Epoxy resin coatings have become a prime choice for homeowners, as it not only looks fantastic, but it’s also easy to maintain, repels chemicals and is mould resistant.
Equally as suitable for commercial spaces requiring non-slip and anti-slip solutions for commercial kitchens, workshops and industrial solutions.
The possibilities with our epoxy coatings are limited only by imagination with some striking effects being achieved with out of the box application thinking.
McLeod’s Epoxy Coatings follow a preparation process prior to applying your epoxy coatings, consistent with the following:
STEP 1: Ensure concrete is structurally sound
There are two main types of concrete, hard and soft, as well as rain affected. Slabs need to be tested to ensure they are structurally sound before applying the coating over the top, as hydrostatic pressure can literally blow the coating off.
STEP 2: Diamond grinding to the concrete
Diamond grinding the concrete gives a great base for the epoxy to stick to. The choice of diamonds used to grind is crucial. Often people hire a diamond grinder, but they generally get an ‘all purpose’ diamond which may not be appropriate for the job.
STEP 3: Ensure level and flat
Levelling and flatness are achieved at the same time. Getting a substrate level and/or flat is required for obtaining the best results.
STEP 4: Patch holes and cracks in concrete
Prior to installing epoxy flooring, we will often need to patch holes and cracks using a variety of appropriate products to future proof your floors and your investment, allowing longevity of it’s lifespan.
