Shane McLeod and his team travelled to multiple locations for Ergon Energy to refurbish a range of Fuel Bunds as a Fuel Tank Repair Service. Ergon Energy needed a crew to travel to each location as it’s a complex job when refrurbishing these fuel bunds, a structure designed to contain spills and leaks from fuel storage containers, preventing environmental damage and ensuring safety.
Fuel bunds are essential for businesses, like Ergon Energy that store or handle fuels, chemicals, or other hazardous liquids to prevent spills from escaping and contaminating the environment or posing a fire hazard.
Once the fuel bund is cleaned there are a number of different treatments available to coat the inside of the tank. The coating is done for a couple of reasons. One reason is to seal any holes in the tank. The other is to simply line the inside of the tank against any further corrosion.
A regular task undertaken is the cleaning of expired petrol, which after time the remains of the petrol turn acidic and can eat through the fuel tank. McLeod’s Epoxy Coatings provided this service to Ergon Energy to maintain the quality of their Fuel Bunds and maximise on their investment with regular maintenance instead of replacement.
